I grew up in Burlington, WI where my family still farms. With my agriculture/business degree from UW Madison, I had one foot in farming and one foot in business. In 1990, I had the opportunity to move to Janesville with my family. My wife, Cindy, and I found “our home” and have loved raising our family here.
I was lucky to find a passion for serving people through banking. I worked with some great organizations including 25 years, Johnson Financial Services, a Wisconsin family- owned bank. As a banker, my most important job was to buildr elationships in the community and help people find financial success and stability. I walked along with people in building their lives.
I have also had the privilege and honor to serve our community as a board member of the YMCA, Forward Janesville, Janesville Foundation and the Community Advisory Board of Mercyhealth. I am a member of Cargill United Methodist Church and Morning Rotary.
When I retired from Johnson, I followed Ron Ochs as President of Janesville Foundation, an organization that has supported our city for over 80 years. I also threw my hat in to run for council. I guess retirement didn’t stick with me. Every day is a great day to serve this community through the day job or the Council.
Janesville has great momentum, but we have very real challenges. I want to work with our city leaders and staff to represent you, our citizens, in making sure Janesville is a great place to raise your family, to build a business or career, and to retire. I am proud to call Janesville home and want to continue to work with you to shape its future.

Good city government thrives on active participation. Let’s make engagement a regular part of city life - not just during big issues.
A strong economy depends on good jobs and affordable housing. The city must partner with citizens and businesses to foster growth.

Janesville is known for safety, education, and parks. We must invest in the fabric of our community.
City government should be fiscally responsible and customer-oriented, always answerable to its citizens.
